♫ In the Twin Cities area, appointments are available weekdays or
on
weekends.
♫ Outside the Twin Cities service area appointments are only available
on weekends.
♪If I call or send an online request today, When can you tune my piano?
♫The usual wait time between when you call and when your piano is tuned
is about 1-2 weeks.
♪How do I schedule a tuning?

♪ How long does a tuning take?
♫ A tuning will typically take 1 hour 30 minutes. If repairs are
required or it has been more than a year since your last tuning it will take longer.
♪Do I the piano owner have to be there?
♫ You choose, this is entirely up to you and your schedule.

♪How do you tune?
♫ I tune using the combination of an electronic tuner and the
human ear (my ear) to achieve the best sound from your piano.
♪ My piano is 100 years old can you still tune it?
♫ Yes. An old piano can be tuned, however the condition of the piano
will determine how long it will hold its tune.
♪ My piano has been neglected for several (or many) years can
your tune it?
♫ Yes, years of neglect add up on a piano, multiple pitch raises may be
needed to bring it up to A440, Ultimately the condition of the piano will determine how long it will hold its tune.
♪ I am outside your regular service area and can't find a
tuner in my area. Will you come and tune
my piano?
♫ Maybe, If you live near or live off of I-94 I may be
passing through your area. Depending on my schedule, we might be
able to schedule a tuning, otherwise If
you are outside the service area and having difficulty finding a tuner in your area feel free to
email me and I'll see if I can help find a tuner closer to you.
♪What does the base tuning price include / Are there any
additional costs?
♫ If your piano is more than 10 cents off pitch it will need a
pitch raise and their will be an additional charge for the pitch raise.
♫ If I have to pay to park my car at your residence such as on the
street or in a ramp the cost of parking will be added onto the final price of
the tuning.
♪What is a pitch raise and why do I need it?
♫ If your piano is more than 10 cents off pitch it will need a
pitch raise to stabilize the tension on the strings.

♫ Baland's Papageno Piano Tuning L.L.C. accepts check or cash. If
you plan to pay with cash and need change please let me know in advance
as my wife usually takes any cash I have.

Am I supposed to tip the piano
tuner?
♫ Some people do, some people don't, it is completely up to you.
♪ Do you ever cancel appointments?
♫ In the event of bad weather not suitable for driving I may
opt to cancel and reschedule the appointment. I will notify you of any
cancellation with as much advance notice as possible.
♪ Do you run late?
♫ I do my best to be on time and occasionally arrive early.
There are occasions where I will run late Twin Cities traffic is what it
is. When you schedule your tuning I'll give you about a 15-30 minute
time span in which I can reasonably predict that I will be able to
arrive to your residence.
♪ Who have you tuned for?
♫ Baland's Papageno Piano Tuning L.L.C. has tuned many residential
pianos throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota as well as pianos for the Marquette hotel In
Minneapolis, Nautilus Music-Theater, the Minnesota Jewish Theatre and Theatre de la Jeune Lune.
♪ I have a dog or a cat will that bother you?
♫ No I like pets. A dog continually barking makes
the tuning process much more difficult.
♪My
child wants
to watch
you tune the piano, is that ok?
♫ Absolutely when I was a child, having the piano tuned at home
was always interesting. I've found the attention span is pretty
short, a customer of mine stated
"well, looks like the novelty wore off" as the children resumed their
normal activities.
