Piano Tuning is the art and craft of adjusting the tension on approximately 230 strings to achieve pleasing intervals and harmonic sounds from your piano.
I tune the old fashioned way by ear. I have found that aural piano tuning produces better results with pleasant harmonics and beautiful overtones throughout your piano. I occasionally use an electronic tuning device to evaluate and set the pitch of the piano.
Pitch Correction is an increase or decrease in string tension to bring the piano to standard pitch. If it has been more than a year since your piano was last tuned you may need a pitch correction.

Repairs What troubles your piano? Sticky keys, sticky dampers, groved hammers, pedal issues, squeaks, keys not level, loose keys, cleaning - dusty soundboard and action, weak notes, notes that don't play, uneven touch, poor repetition, missing strings, rattles, clicks, ringing, loose pins etc.

Regulation As a piano is played the felts and leather in the action wear and compact making the action less efficient, uneven and less expressive for the pianist. Regulation involves making a series of adjustments on every note in the piano action to compensate for the wear and restore proper piano performance.
Voicing as a piano is played, the hammer felt compacts and becomes harder, over time a piano will sound brighter and harsher. Voicing modifies a pianos tone by manipulating the felt on the hammer.
Hammer Shaping if your hammers have visible groves they will not strike the strings correctly resulting in poor piano tone. Hammer shaping will improve the tone and extend the life of the hammer.
Piano Upgrades Key top replacement, new bass strings, replace all strings, action rebuild, key bushing replacement, replace hammers, replace damper felt, touchweight analysis and correction. Restoration and rebuilding services are available, please contact me for further information.
